2013 Geneva Motor Show – What to expect: 130 Premieres

In less than two weeks we will be at 2013 Geneva Motor Show (Switzerland), on March 5th, for this year’s exhibition at Geneva Palexpo convention centre, near the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The 83rd International Motor Show and Accessories Geneva (5-6 March press, 7-17 March public) is, once again, the exhibition chosen by the automakers to show for the first time in the world their new models.

A total of 130 world premieres will be revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and the work is already underway as evidenced by the two webcams available from the official website (salon-auto.ch). The exhibition will take place at Palexpo convention center in 7 pavilions, with a total area of 102,000 square meters (1.1 million square foot) and there will be nearly 260 exhibitors.

The gates of the auto show will open on March 5th for media, the organizers expecting to attend more than 10,000 people to record the exhibits, with 70 press conferences that will take place in the Swiss capital. Also there will be given the 2013 World Car of the Year award.

For the public, the auto show will open Thursday, March 7th and will remain open for 11 days to March 17th (inclusive). It is expected that about 700,000 visitors will attend at the exhibition, from 10 am until 8 pm on weekdays, and from 9 am to 7 pm on weekends.

The main attractions of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is expected to be the Ferrari F150, McLaren P1 and of course the new Alfa Romeo 4C. A total of 900 cars will be there on the 7 pavilions, more than 10% of them being “green” emitting less than 100 g/km CO2.

We will keep you in touch with the Swiss auto show, where for nearly a week we’ll be connected with the heart of automotive world, and report everything that will happen at Palexpo.
