The Japanese car maker came at Geneva Motor Show 2012 with the production version of the Lexus GS 450h and the F-Sport range: Lexus RX 350 and Lexus RX 450h.
2013 Lexus GS 450h is equipped with a hybrid drive unit of a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric motor. The model has a more spacious interior and a larger fuel tank, among other improvements. The versions with included navigation will get a huge 12.3 inches display, together with a range of active safety systems.
The 2013 Lexus RX range has been refreshed with a more aggressive design and a rich portfolio of colors and decorations. The hybrid version of the model, RX 450h, received an additional driving mode – Sport. In EV mode, the model can run to a maximum speed of 50 km/h (31 mph), and its power steering systems and stability control have been optimized for increased control.
The 2013 Lexus RX has a new spindle grille that we now see on the new GS and LX, also LED lights, new fog lights and new tail lights. Inside, the changes are limited – there is a redesigned steering wheel and additional metallic trim. The 2013 Lexus RX F Sport version features a new front bumper and new 19-inch wheels with super-chrome finish, and on the inside – a sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and stainless steel door sills with a printed Lexus logo.
Under the hood, the 2013 Lexus RX 350 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a six-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) for an output of 270 horsepower (201 kW/274 PS) at 6,200 rpm. The 2013 Lexus RX 450h version has a 3.5-liter V6 Atkinson-cycle engine, electric motors, a small and light power-control unit and other fuel-saving innovations, overall delivering 295 horsepower (220 kW/299 PS). The 2013 Lexus RX 450h F Sport has a fuel economy of 6.3 liters/100km (44.8 mpg imperial, 37.3 mpg US) and emissions of 145 g/km CO2.
Lexus LF-LC Concept is a hybrid luxury sports car, which marks a new image for the premium brand of the Japanese corporation. They say that this concept has been designed by the Toyota Calty Studio (Newport Beach, California) and prefigures their future design language, so we can expect to see the beautiful characteristics of this concept on several series models from the Lexus, many of the design elements will go on the production models within the next 2 years.
Lexus doesn’t mention anything about what lies beneath the Lexus LF-LC Concept bonnet. Inside we find wooden, aluminum and Alcantara leather insertions. There are two touchscreen 12.3″ LCD through which the air conditioning, navigation system and audio system can be accessed. There is also a pop-up touch-keyboard to help the passenger to a more comfortable position while typing long texts. Also some touch-buttons control the windows and mirrors.
