Alfa Romeo 4C Concept – Design & Engine
Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is a pure sports-car concept with two seats, with a centrally located engine and rear wheel drive, which has a length of 4 meters and a wheelbase of only 2.4 meters giving – with 40% weight distribution on front and back 60% – agility in the automotive world hardly seen today.
The design concept is inspired by the 8C Competizione, and materials come to the same track. We speak of elements such as carbon fiber and aluminum and technical solutions such as price-to-wear turbo petrol engine of 1750 cc, dual-clutch automatic TCT gearbox and a DNA selector present on all models of the new generation of the Italians.
Thanks to the lightweight materials used in construction, Alfa Romeo 4C Concept manages to come up with a mass of just 850 kg, lower than that of the Fiat 500, for example. Under these conditions, the weight/power ratio is 4 kilograms/horsepower, an excellent model for a future series that promises to be within the limit of 50,000 euro.
Performance is within expectations, 5 seconds needs Alfa Romeo 4C Concept for 0-100 km/h and a maximum speed of 250 km/h is more than enough for a compact coupe.
The production model will be developed based on the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept and will come to market next year and will take 90% of its original design.
