Geneva 2010: The Volvo S 60 – brake for pedestrians

Volvo celebrates in Geneva (at the Auto Show), the 60th edition of the S. It has the XC 60 from the famous “City Safety” – to the pedestrian detection, in an emergency, up to a speed of 35 km/h initiating an automatic emergency braking if the driver does not respond, the speed on the system reduces the impact of the collision. To Mark Start in early summer 2010, Volvo offers the peppy subscribed S 60 engines with 85 kW/115 PS to 224 kW/304 hp. The T 6 comes standard with four-wheel drive, which is for the Volvo S 60 D 5 optionally available.

The sedan, which will be built in Belgium, can be equipped with two different chassis versions. For the European market is the dynamic newly-developed chassis standard, while in most markets in North America and Asia, a rather more comfort tuned suspension as standard equipment and heard the sporty variant is offered as an option.

The chassis is complemented by a variety of electronic systems that enhance the safety and stability.
