Audi has presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the A 8 as a hybrid production study. The two power sources – a 2.0 TFSI and an electric motor – giving from 180 kW / 245 hp Performance and 480 Nm of torque. The Audi A 8 Hybrid accelerates in 7.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h. Its mean consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to a CO2 value of 144 grams per kilometer.
If the Audi A8 hybrid drives off, its two engines working together differently depending on the performance requirement narrowly. From 65 km/h the engine does the work alone. The e-machine now provides the energy to power the load and to recharge the battery. When the driver goes from the gas is decoupled from the internal combustion engine drive train – the Audi A8 hybridsail“.

The lithium ion battery is housed in the rear car. The baggage compartment of the Audi A8 offers up to 400 liters, a relatively good value. The hybrid drive is designed for purely electric driving to 65 km/h and more than two kilometers range.
The technique provides a view of a future production model – the Audi Q 5 Hybrid, which will be presented in 2010.
