Nissan Resonance Concept – Design & Engine
Created by Nissan Design America, supervised by the careful guidance of Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., the new Nissan Resonance Concept promotes a V-shaped front line, inspiring a motion idea that’s completed by the boomerang-shaped headlights. The car body, painted in a “Flare Orange” color, is complemented by a set of 22 inches aluminum wheels.
On the inside, Nissan also relies on a futuristic concept, inspired by the new design and the central console that contains the multimedia system. The LED based gradual illumination , the wood and leather insertions and the glazed roof give a premium perception of this model.
Under the bonnet, Resonance is hiding its 2.5-liter V6 petrol engine, which is paired to a hybrid-electric propulsion system, according to Nissan’s press release. A lithium-ion battery provides power while a CVT Xtronic transmission of the latest generation takes care of directing power to the wheels. The regeneration system of wasted energy while braking, all wheel drive and independent suspension are some of the other features of the Resonance concept.
“When the designers were first working on conceptualizing the Nissan Resonance, they were inspired by amazing scientific advancements in technology and material innovations. They also were inspired by the aspirations of those people who unabashedly embrace innovation and are optimistic about the future. It was about serving those people a concept vehicle that is forward-looking and fuses style with an athletic ride;” said Francois Bancon, Nissan Motor Co. division general manager, Product Strategy and Planning.
