STUDY: Half of the british drivers shouldn’t have a driver’s licence

STUDY: Half of the british drivers shouldn’t have a driver’s licence

May 24, 2010

I’m sure you know that England is GOD when it comes to studies. In any domain you could think of, they’ve made some research and can easily prove that the things you knew are wrong! Here is where the Korean automaker KIA set foot to make their latest study. It seems that more than 50% of the british drivers are not the best on the roads and also, they shouldn’t even own a driver’s licence. Serious mistakes in traffic were made by the subjects. The research regarding driving standards revealed that half of those who currently hold a driving license would not pass the driver exam once again. In this KIA project, the British drivers have been reviewed in reproducing the conditions for the driving exam. The results shown that many of those who already own a drivers license do serious mistakes in traffic. The lack of attention is the most common one. More than 66% of the drivers didn’t checked any mirrors before starting the car. Some of them also forgot to use the seat belts. A part of those who failed the driving tests were drivers with more than 30 years of experience that drive about 250 km weekly. Now, I’m sure you would say that after so many years the laws have been changed in the the theoretical exam and I agree. Also, many of the drivers I know do these common mistakes. It’s not a “british trend”. All the nations do it. And these are only a few bad things the experienced drivers do. Still, many of the accidents are made by the rookies, not these veterans I must say. So..I would probably fail the exam too because,...

U.S. – Top 10 Cheap Cars to Own

U.S. – Top 10 Cheap Cars to Own

May 23, 2010

When it’s time to buy a new car and desperation comes calling, all other priorities peel away, leaving price alone to govern the decision. Most cars aren’t good investments — the only return you’ll earn from owning one is a way to get around. But simply buying the cheapest car isn’t necessarily the cheapest route. High-end cars may depreciate less, but buying a vehicle with the lowest possible sticker price is one of the best ways to minimize a car’s cumulative drain on personal finances. That’s because owners will never recoup the full price paid for a new car after factoring in all of the expenses associated with owning and maintaining it. Think of a car as a “good investment” in terms of how much money you have left after buying it to invest in financial products that actually do give good returns. Cars—even the affordable ones—are expensive to own and operate. So we went in search of the answer to an important question: What is the cheapest car to buy and own? Fuel is an obvious consideration, but insurance can’t be ignored, either. Here they are – the least expensive 2010 cars on sale in America. (All prices are MSRP (sticker price) plus destination charge.) Hyundai Elantra Base MSRP: $14,865 EPA Combined Mileage: 29 mpg Three-Year Fuel Cost: $3194 Three-Year Insurance Cost: $3527 Total Three-Year Cost: $21,586 A manual transmission is the short-changed buyer’s best friend, as manuals are typically $1000 or so cheaper than automatics and, except in the case of today’s most bleeding-edge transmissions, are more fuel efficient to boot....

How many of your friends are bad drivers? I mean, really really bad ones. Chances are they might be an attorney, government worker or a judge according to a new study listing the most dangerous drivers by profession. A study made by an auto insurance  business in the U.S. revealed that lawyers and judges are the most dangerous drivers in North America. The study made by Insurance.com shown that lawyers and judges are the most dangerous drivers from all of their clients. It seems that 44% of lawyers who wanted to make their insurance at them already had an incident before making an application for a new insurance policy. The least dangerous professions were professional athletes but also homemakers. It seems that people who are forced to rush and must do several things at the same time have a greater chance of making an accident in comparison with persons that have kids and avoid traffic conjunctions. Another dangerous profession is related to financial matters and refers to everyone working in this area, from accountants to bankers. Third place is occupied by government workers, while fourth place is taken by waiters and bartenders. On number five we have private entrepreneurs and sixth place is taken by dog groomers. Seventh place is occupied by those who work in advertising and marketing, while number eight is occupied by stylists.  The last two professions from this TOP 10 are coach and nurse. Although at first sight such a classification is done strictly for laughs, United States insurers set rates depending on the job of the client, strictly related to their...
