Toyota presented today the two new diesel engines that will equip the Hilux and Land Cruiser models. These are 2.4- and 2.8-liter diesel engines and are 15% more efficient than the units they replace.
The two engines from Toyota divide bore (92 mm) and compression ratio (15.6). The unit of 2,393 cc 150 hp at 3,400 rpm finishes and a maximum torque of 400 Nm between 1,600 and 2,000 rpm. The speed of 1,200 rpm, the diesel engine 2GD-FTV Toyota’s 2.4-liter provides 330 Nm. Meanwhile, his older brother, 1GD-FTV announces 370 Nm of torque at 1,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm. The maximum power of 2,754 cc diesel engine from Toyota is 177 hp.
Toyota has equipped its new engine and a new turbo, which is 30% less than the unit it replaces and which promises instant throttle response and resilience. GD new family of diesel engines and 2.8 liter 2.4 from Toyota will gradually replace the current KD family. The Japanese will produce approximately 700.00 units by 2016 and provide new engines 90 markets. By 2020, new diesel engines to Toyota will be offered in at least 150 markets.
