Rolls Royce has announced it will launch at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show a new luxury model, this time convertible: it will be called Rolls Royce Dawn and was already anticipated by a series of first pictures.
Rolls Royce has prepared us something spectacular for this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. After many years, the British luxury limousine will introduce a convertible, named Dawn.
The name is officially confirmed by a series of teaser images that betray classic clock in the center of the dashboard and stainless steel insert at the threshold level. For those who have not guessed already, Dawn will actually be convertible version of Wraith coupe launched two years ago to increase addressability brand.
New Dawn Rolls Royce but will be slightly different than its coupe counterpart, since it will be forced to hide a retractable canvas roof in the trunk. Therefore, the line will be slightly modified posterior and trunk space will become something more restrictive.
Under the hood we find the same drive train as in the case of the Wraith, ie a 6.6-liter V12 engine capable of producing 632 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque.
Since Wraith accelerates from 0-100 km / h in just 4.6 seconds, and we can expect Dawn to approach this value. He will be unnoticeable slower because a larger mass caused by the folding roof mechanism and the elements that increase body rigidity.
