The French car manufacturer unveiled the first official pictures and information of the new Renault Talisman. Laguna‘s replacement will be launched this autumn, after the presentation in the Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA).
Renault Talisman, Laguna and replacement of Latitude, was officially presented. The French model is D segment’s direct competitor Volkswagen Passat, Ford Mondeo, Opel Insignia, Peugeot 508, Mazda6, Toyota Avensis and others. During the presentation in Paris, the French have just unveiled the Talisman sedan’s, but its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show will mark the break and presentation variant of this model. New Talisman does not share any components with its predecessor and comes with a fresh design language, which is responsible Laurens van den Acker, head of design at Renault. Interestingly, the French model was already included in the list of eligible competitors for Car of the Year 2016 in Europe.
Talisman is built on the new platform from Renault CMF-CD, which ensures a generous wheelbase of 2.81 meters. The body of the new mid-range model of the Renault has a length of 4.85 meters, a width of 1.87 meters and a height of 1.46 meters. Talisman’s new dimensions ensures, in addition to a spacious cabin that promises to be for all occupants, an equally spacious boot, whose cargo volume is ranked 608 liters.
At the technological level, the model enjoys a multimedia screen 4.2 inch diagonal standard. The second system is available that has a touch screen diagoanala seven inches. The third system is multimedia Renault R-Link 2 8.7 inch screen, the largest in the segment. In addition to these, Talisman provides hands-free automatic parking and the Bose Surround Sound system. Renault Talisman is offered in five trim levels, which are associated with five types of interior ambience. They are (from entry-level to high end): Life, Zen, Business, Vivid and Initiale Paris.
The engine of Renault‘s new engine Talisman brings a French range: 1.6 Tce 200 hp. This is complemented by a 1.2 TCE 130 hp and another 1.6 TCE 163 hp. On the diesel Renault Talisman provides for a 1.5 dCi 110 hp and two variants of the 1.6 dCi engine power, which provides 130 or 160 hp. The French have just announced front-wheel drive configurations for Talisman and standard six-speed transmissions have. Optionally, EDC transmission is offered with two clutches and seven gears for certain engines. Talisman‘s list of options will include active steering system 4Control four-wheeler, which was enriched with an active damping system. As their press release highlights the French press, talking about the only midsize model that is offered with four-wheel steering.
