Ford comes with the full range of SUVs at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show – the main novelty is Ford Edge, Kuga‘s big brother.
Ford Edge will make its European debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Edge is a D-segment SUV, the global platform, falling Kuga range over him and his direct rival Volkswagen Touareg, among others. The model is presented as the most advanced ever created brand SUV in Michigan and is offered on the Old Continent in the company of two diesel 2.0 TDCi 180 hp and 210 hp. 180 hp unit is provided with both a six-speed manual transmission, while the 210 hp engine gets a six-speed automatic. Customers can order both versions with front-wheel drive and four wheel drive versions.
Ford Edge share its platform with Mondeo and has a design inspired by the concept of the same name that was presented in November 2013 at Los Angeles Auto Show. Standard safety features include rear seat with integrated airbags, airbag integrated in the glove box door and more, in addition to classic airbags and traction control systems and stability. Moreover, Ford proposes several systems that help the driver to tackle bends safely in all conditions and avoid accidents as much as possible. From a technical standpoint, we know that the front suspension is MacPherson type, while the rear axle has fully–independent suspension link.
In the interior, Ford Edge enjoys a multimedia system Sync 2 inch diagonal screen and MyFord Touch eight. Edge can be equipped with one of the highest ceilings in the auto industry panoramic views of the glazing and the interior can accommodate seven people, a feature becoming more common in the segment. Along Edge, Ford will have its stand at the Frankfurt Kuga and EcoSport and models. Younger siblings‘s Edge has some updates, Kuga is offered with a revised interior and new colors, while EcoSport has “escaped” spare wheel mounted on door hatchback‘s, has enhanced dynamic and is offered with many amenities.
